Hello, I’m Scott, the creator of eNotify. Over the years, I’ve used SMS extensively in many of my personal projects. However, with rising costs and increasing regulations, SMS has become less viable for my small side projects. I always sought a third-party push service that could integrate seamlessly with my projects, work across both iOS and Android, and offer the speed and high engagement rates of SMS. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find one that met all my needs. So, I decided to create my own solution, and that’s how eNotify was born. eNotify is designed to provide real-time notifications with the reliability and immediacy of SMS, but at a fraction of the cost. It’s perfect for developers and small projects looking for an efficient and affordable communication tool. With eNotify, you can easily send push-like notifications, ensuring your messages are delivered promptly and effectively. I’m excited to share eNotify with you and help you enhance your communication strategies without the rising costs and regulations of traditional SMS services.

Interesting concept and nice work. I guess you also take care of queuing so no notification is missed. I'll keep an eye on this, good luck!
Scott L
@scientist1642 Thank you so much for the kind words! 😊 Yes, exactly—we handle queuing to make sure every notification gets delivered reliably, even if there are hiccups. I’m glad you like the concept, and I’d love to hear your thoughts as you keep an eye on it. Your feedback means a lot!

eNotify sounds like a breath of fresh air for devs tired of SMS headaches! As someone who's juggled a few side projects, I can totally relate to the SMS cost struggle. Love that it works across iOS and Android - that's huge. Curious about the integration process though. Is it as simple as dropping in an API call, or is there more to it? Also, how's the delivery rate compared to traditional SMS? Might give this a whirl on my next project - could be a game-changer for keeping users in the loop without breaking the bank. Nice job spotting and filling this gap, Scott!
Scott L
@_ivan1 Thanks, Ivan! Glad you can relate. 😊 Integration is pretty straightforward—mostly just dropping in an API call, plus some config options if needed. Delivery rate is on par with SMS, thanks to push reliability—often faster in fact, especially for users with reliable data. Would love to hear how it works for your project!

this is really interesting, congrats on the launch! we're just starting to implement push notifications from an external provider, but I was looking for an SMS provider as well that isn't one of the usual culprits that are pretty hard to work with. will give this a go!
Scott L
@luanat Thanks so much! I totally get it—SMS can be such a hassle with the usual providers. eNotify aims to solve both sides: the simplicity of push notifications and SMS-like reliability. I’d love to hear how it works for your implementation. Feel free to reach out if you have questions along the way!

I may be being dumb here.. if its not SMS how are you messaging users? You can't send a push notification unless an app is installed right?
Max Comperatore
@jonnymiles yeah the app has an endpoint and when triggered it spawns a notification, there are a lot of apps that do this. very common in ci/cd
Jonny Miles
@maxcompe oh, so this is an app you install yourself to get deployment error messages etc, I was thinking this was consumer-facing which wouldn't make a lot of sense (if users had to download a random app to get messages, ha)
Max Comperatore
@jonnymiles id assume it works this way, it not really for customers. we will have to ask the maker
Scott L
@jonnymiles Not a dumb question at all! Here’s how it works: eNotify initially sends an SMS to guide users to opt in via our direct messaging app, where they can receive notifications going forward. Once they’re opted in, they get real-time push notifications, which work similarly to app or website alerts. It combines the ease of SMS with the cost benefits of push notifications, without requiring an app to be installed right from the start. Hope that clears things up!

@jonnymiles @scott808 IMO the eNotify home page should illustrate this process in a few screenshots. There's no point in letting people think it's magic when the key for adoption is a well designed process.
Denys Séguret
Hi, this is intriguing. What's the requirement for receiving notifications ? Have a US phone number ?
Scott L
@denys_seguret At the moment, yes—a US phone number is required since we use SMS for the initial opt-in. However, we’re actively working on expanding to include RCS and other messaging platforms like WhatsApp for the opt-in process, so we can support international users more easily in the near future!
Edoardo Parisi
Interesting concept but...shouldn't RCSs be the cheaper (they are free) and viable alternative to SMS?
