Dial solves a surprisingly important gap in agent infrastructure: giving an AI agent a real identity in the phone network.

What stands out to me is that it isn't just another voice-agent layer. An agent can provision its own number, make and receive calls, send/receive messages, and even consume the full inbound SMS to continue workflows such as OTP verification. The CLI/MCP-first approach also feels very aligned with where agent-native products are heading.

The abstraction is the interesting part: instead of stitching together telephony, messaging, webhooks and agent tooling yourself, Dial makes the phone another tool the agent can use.
