DayDrift helps you plan and track your daily tasks with a clean, minimal approach to productivity. Organize your todos by day of the week and watch your progress unfold naturally.
Organize your todos by day of the week and watch your progress unfold naturally. Unlike traditional task apps that tie you to rigid deadlines, DayDrift lets you assign tasks to days of the week instead of specific dates. Miss Monday's task? It naturally flows to Tuesday, keeping you moving forward without the stress of overdue items.
How does DayDrift differ from other todo apps?
DayDrift focuses specifically on weekly planning with a unique day-by-day accordion interface that lets you organize tasks by weekdays. Unlike traditional todo apps, it includes a streak tracking system that motivates you to build consistent daily habits. The app emphasizes simplicity and focus, helping you plan your week without getting overwhelmed by complex features.
Key Features:
Weekly Planning - Assign tasks to specific days and see your week at a glance
Flexible Scheduling - Choose between 5-day or 7-day week views
Drift Tracking - Visuals that shows how many times a task has been carried to the next day
Clean Interface - Distraction-free design that adapts to your preferred theme
History & Sync - Keep track of completed tasks and sync across all your devices (Unlimited)
@whereflightteam I already have a beta version with a couple of new features, one of them is the availability to edit items. Are you interested in testing it?

"Gentle focus" is elusive. Will it provide color coding and on-calendar notes through a Google calendar integration?
@jb_barcelon what do you mean by "color coding", like colors to identify task types/categories? I don't have any third-party integrations planned for now, as I think it's important to keep simplicity and privacy first.

@ickas No stress, but yes. Events are color-coded in my calendar for work events (and then taken a step further with the type of event), and then I have a personal calendar, and another joint calendar with my partner.
Love the simplicity here. Letting tasks “drift” across your week instead of racking up overdue items seems way healthier for stress. Clean UI, streaks, and privacy-first syncing are smart touches.. looking forward to seeing how it evolves!
@klikekyle true. I already started working on the next update, and one of the things that will be included is notifications/badges. It will be a simple approach with a badge showing how many tasks for the current day are incomplete and the possibility to turn on notifications for the beginning and the end of the day to notify how many tasks you have or have left for the current day. Do you think it is enough to bring the functionality and keep the simplicity at the same time?

@ickas Love to hear it. I'd recommend keeping it simple and when I add tasks the tasks for that day are a badge count when I exit the app. I hate badges and this reminds me to check it. That said It'd be nice to have that total run through the week and keep overdue ones from let's say Monday on the icon as well as any on the current day. Makes me stay on top of them. I liken this to a simple weekly to do list to keep it focused on daily to do's. Not to evolve into something that becomes almost like planner. That's where this app would die. Their were so many good simple to do apps that became planners and just too complicated. Please keep this simple. I'd also like to see "premium" icons for premium users like me. Keep up the good work!

Very nice! Can you share an account with more people? I would love to be able to share family tasks with my girlfriend
DayDrift
@daniel_mauno_pettersson not yet, but it is on the roadmap. How do you see that happening? Sharing single tasks or a group of tasks?
QA.tech
@ickas Groups of tasks, like the long list of house "renovation" and fixes.
- Add trim to the guest bedroom
- Hang the photos in the living room
DayDrift
@daniel_mauno_pettersson make it totally sense, and my wife has already asked for the ability to share a "family groceries" list 😅

Hey! Was trying out the app. It's clean and simple but how do i edit the task?
I am able to delete it but can't edit it.
DayDrift
@whereflightteam editing tasks isn't available yet, but it will be one of the features in the next version, along with notifications.

@rouzbehfirouz thanks, Roozbeh. Next will be widgets and notifications! 🙌
Needs a badge on the app icon for tasks that are live on the day of the week it is. Otherwise I like the simplicity.

@buzzusborne for sure, my idea is to implement next the widgets and notifications. Probably after that, I will start with the macOS app.
