Coverage Cat, the AI insurance agent, answers questions about home, auto, umbrella, life, and disability insurance. It will help you figure out if you should buy that policy, file that claim, and help you shop around for a better price.

@gb_cov_cat transparency in insurance is long overdue! Will try this out on my house
Coverage Cat
@peter_xu2 Thanks Peter! Really appreciate you trusting us with finding coverage for your home!
I like how Coverage Cat focuses on a single domain and goes deep.
Curious, does it handle state-by-state differences in coverage terms and regulations, or is that something on the roadmap?
Coverage Cat
@timchengb Yep it definitely does! Our shopping service only covers five states ATM (CA, NY, WA, TX, FL) but the AI agent can answer questions about insurance nationwide
Roger
whoa @gb_cov_cat this looks awesome
Do you augment with court cases to answer litigation questions?
Coverage Cat
@wangerrr yep, a pre-selected set of court cases is a core part of the RAG since these are so influential in establishing insurance precendents / helping users understand edge cases of their policies
Roger
@gb_cov_cat 🤯
Coverage Cat
@wangerrr yeah, our insurance agents had to do a ton to build the dataset!

It's cool how the tool pulls out a whole calculator to help see if you should claim your car damage. Does it have features like that for other categories of insurance?
Coverage Cat
@yiblet We're working on building more tools. The biggest bottleneck is usually high quality data availability + engineering time tradeoffs.
Eventually there will be high reliability calculators for everything!
I had a delightful customer experience with Coverage Cat. They never sold my info to brokers, were genuinely educational, and helped me find the best coverage as a first-time car owner! Never thought that optimizing insurance coverage could indeed be fun.

@agni_bhattacharya Thanks Agni, our agents loved working with you!
Fun is a first for us! Maybe we should gamify the flows!

Congrats on the launch! I'd heard of this through friends and tried it out - the user experience for me finding home insurance involved a pretty long survey, but the options it showed afterwards were well-priced, and we ended up switching using one of them.
Coverage Cat
@harry_yu1 Glad we were able to help y'all save! Thank you for the feedback too, our focus after this launch will turn once again to rebuilding the form and intake experience to feel more accommodating given the number of data points needed to shop across a super-set of insurers.

Nice, congrats @gb_cov_cat @coveragecatmax! Insurance is such a pain 😅 I was checking it out, detailing a random house I found on Zillow to understand what could be a good insurance option, and I kept getting quote estimates. BUT, I couldn't click on the estimate to take me to the referenced site (e.g., Bamboo, Homesite, etc.). I would love any references to be clickable in future releases!
Coverage Cat
@coveragecatmax @ben_griese Thanks for the feedback Ben, will double check here in a minute to make sure there wasn't a bug blocking you.
If you're interested in purchasing one of the policies the Shop button on our site will let you do so.
Some insurers like Bamboo don't allow you to shop directly through them so you'll need to work with a broker like Coverage Cat. Homesite, however, is directly available to CA buyers.
Coverage Cat
@ben_griese Yep, double checked on this and will work to improve the UX. The intended pathway is to click on the SHOP button right below the insurer price estimate cards, but your "desire path" here suggests we should just make the cards clickable.
Gonna test with a few more users and will ship a change later this week. Thanks again for the feedback!

@ben_griese BTW there's a bug on the Launch Dashboard for makers.
Even though I've replied to all these comments via our live launch page they still show up as unread/unresponded to in the Dashboard. Feels like a Firefox browser compat or websockets thing if I had to guess.
