After building CHEQ, I realized its strength is what it isn't: just another rigid productivity system. Most tools are either basic task lists or heavy enterprise software like Jira. CHEQ sits perfectly in the middle. We turned simple checklists into collaborative workspaces where you can chat, tag teammates, and get quiet AI nudges. It upgrades how you already work, handling real collaboration without feeling like a full time management job.

After building and using CHEQ myself, I realized its biggest strength is what it isn't. It is not trying to be just another productivity system. Instead, it simply fixes the actual friction that happens when people try to get things done together.
Most tools today push you into two extremes. You either get a basic to-do list, or you get heavy enterprise software, where you need an onboarding session just to write down a task. CHEQ sits exactly in the middle of that gap, and that was a very intentional choice.
The biggest shift is making collaboration the foundation. Tasks are not just items on a list. They are living spaces where you can talk, tag people, and keep all the context right where the work is happening. You do not have to juggle WhatsApp, Slack, and email anymore just to figure out what is going on.
I created this out of pure necessity.
My brother stays in a different timezone, and planning things/trips with him gets super difficult. Things like,
- Who does what?
- What needs to be done?
- When does it need to be done?
- and so on
Aligning on these topics or on these tasks used to be difficult for me, and that's when I thought of creating Cheq. I did finish a trip itinerary, collaborated with my friends on some work-related project, and last but not least, it helped me prepare my grocery list :)
If I had to sum it up honestly, CHEQ was designed as a lightweight collaborative checklist so you can dump your thoughts on it and plan things to keep your head lighter. :)
It's still a work in progress would be happy to know your thoughts.
