ReadwiseResurfacing your best highlights from Kindle, iBooks & more
4.8 (20 reviews)
Readwise proves the loop I care about works β save what you read, and let spaced repetition bring it back before you forget. The difference is how far capture can reach: Readwise shines on text you can highlight in a reader, while Capecho uses one keystroke and on-device OCR to lift a word and its sentence off any screen β a PDF image, a paused video, your IDE β nothing to select, nothing to paste. It pointed me at the right rhythm; frictionless OCR capture is how I made that first step almost disappear.

Vocabulary BuilderImprove your vocabulary by quizzing yourself
5.0 (1 review)
Vocabulary Builder gets the important half right β you don't really own a word until you've had to recall it, so quizzing beats passively re-reading. Capecho runs on that same active-recall belief; the twist is where the words come from: one keystroke and on-device OCR capture the words you actually trip over while reading β off any screen, in their own sentence β instead of a preset list. Frictionless capture in, active recall out.

AnkiFriendly, intelligent flash cards. Remember stuff.
5.0 (3 reviews)
Anki is the gold standard for retention β the FSRS scheduling it popularized is the same engine behind Capecho's review. Its one tax is building every card by hand, and that's the exact friction Capecho removes: one keystroke runs on-device OCR to grab the word and its sentence off whatever you're reading β an article, a PDF, a video, your IDE β or copy-paste, no card-building. I leaned on Anki over the closed alternatives because FSRS is open and your words always export straight back to it.
