Buba is a science-backed wellbeing app. Practice breath, voice, movement and journaling, and see what actually shifts your state. Download on iOS.

Hi fellow makers and hunters,
We all want to feel good, most of the time. It doesn't always work out that way, and most of us don't know why.
Today we're introducing Buba to the Product Hunt community.
Our premise: out of a million practices, none of them is reliably better than another. What matters is whether the one you pick right now moves your state. And that depends on the state you're in, not on the method's reputation.
Buba's job is to teach you to read your own body and mind, one interaction at a time, and to hand you the practice that fits right now.
I've spent 25 years inside these practices. Nine of them running my own meditation center, retreats for entrepreneurs, programs that 20,000+ people went through. That's how I know the method isn't the variable.
I've also spent those 25 years building technology companies: several exits in game development and marketplaces, over $50M raised, some of them disrupting their categories.
There are thousands of meditation sessions, breathing exercises and journals available today, and every one of them sells you its method, which means every one of them has to claim its method works.
That's why we built Buba: a tool that doesn't care which practice you do, only whether it works and can be measured.
How Buba helps
Tell Buba what you're up to, then confirm your mind and body state, and Buba brings together a matching selection of practices across Breath, Voice, Focus, Body, and Journal.
All of them are unguided. While you're listening to someone else's voice, you will never hear your own.
After each practice, you can see how your state changed. Over time, Buba helps you recognize which practices work best for you in different situations.
Buba is for those everyday moments when:
you're anxious before a meeting
mentally overloaded after work
struggling to focus
running out of energy
lying in bed unable to switch off
and many more
Those moments when you know you want to feel different, but aren't quite sure what actually helps.
We’ve been building Buba with my co-founder Anastasia Rekutz (@arekutz) and a small team of engineers and designers. We all have years of experience with wellbeing practices ourselves. We've been through the majority of the 1,700+ states Buba can work with.
What you're seeing today is our MVP. There's much more ahead: deeper analytics, more personalization and a better understanding of what actually changes your state over time. We're working on where Buba goes next, and we're still learning.
Now that we're sharing Buba with you, I'd really like to know:
When something feels off, how do you usually decide what might help?
If you could teach Buba one thing about you, what would it be?
I'll be here throughout the launch, answering questions and listening to what works, what doesn't, and what you think we should improve. Every piece of feedback will help us make Buba better.
Buba has been part of our everyday lives for quite some time now. It means a lot to finally put it in other people's hands, and I hope it finds a little place in your everyday life too.
PS If you decide to give Buba a try, we've made 30 days of Buba Pro free for the Product Hunt community with the code BUBAPH30.
Download Buba from the App Store whenever you’re ready.
@arekutz @alex_gidirim сongrats on the launch пгны! You’ve already come such a long way, and I have a feeling so many exciting things are still ahead ;-)))) Looking back at the journey from the initial idea to today’s launch, what changed the most along the way - the product itself, your understanding of the users, or your original assumptions about the problem you wanted to solve? thanks
@marina_detinko thank you. Our assumptions about the problem haven't changed. If anything, they only got stronger. The app is what changed the most, and it will keep changing. Our private beta gave us a lot of food for thought, and a good part of it is already shaping what we build next.
What a day for our small team!
Building Buba has meant hundreds of decisions, plenty of changed minds, and a lot of care for every detail. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve made together, and very happy that Buba is finally out in the world.
If you try it, please tell us what you think. We’re listening.
