The idea started with a simple problem: when people submit a bank statement, payslip, or invoice for a rental application, visa, mortgage, or proof of income, they often end up sharing far more personal information than the recipient actually needs. Account numbers, routing details, home addresses, and private transactions can all be sitting inside the same document. And placing a black rectangle over sensitive text does not always mean the information has truly been removed. We built SafeShare to make this process simpler and more private. It works directly in your browser, so your document stays on your device instead of being uploaded to a cloud service. You can choose what to hide, preserve the information needed for verification, and download a flattened copy that is ready to share. We’ve focused on making the workflow useful for real situations—not just technically powerful: rental applications, visa paperwork, mortgage reviews, payslip verification, and address or billing documents. You can try it with one of the sample documents on the site, so there’s no need to use a real financial file to get started.
