After Mint shut down I tried every replacement — they all wanted my bank login before I could see anything. I'm not comfortable with that, and I knew I wasn't alone. So I built Aurum from scratch. The entire premise is manual entry — you control your data, nothing connects to your bank, and you get a complete picture of your financial life in one dashboard. What surprised me most while building it: the projected balance feature became the most useful thing I built. Seeing exactly where your checking account will be 30 days from now — accounting for upcoming bills and expected paychecks — changes how you think about money.
