Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m incredibly excited to finally share Alloy with you all today.
The inspiration for Alloy came from pure, personal frustration. As a Mac user, I was tired of being completely locked out of the massive Android gaming ecosystem. Whenever I tried existing emulators, they felt like clunky afterthoughts—heavy, laggy, and poorly optimized for modern Macs. I just wanted to play Android-exclusive games and early-access RPGs on my Mac with a controller, without my laptop sounding like a jet engine.
So, we built Alloy. Our goal was to create an Android emulator that actually feels like a premium, native macOS app.
As we built it, our process evolved. What started as a simple wrapper project turned into a deep dive into performance optimization. We spent months refining the architecture to ensure buttery-smooth framerates, plug-and-play keyboard keymapping support, and a beautifully clean UI that feels right at home on your Mac.
I’d absolutely love to hear your feedback! What Android games are you most excited to finally play on your Mac?
