Super simple and effective. 👌 The customized alerts are a great feature. Would be interesting to be able to set political tendency and get different calls to action.

Hi PHers - I am excited to share my second app with you! Each day, Alder helps you focus on one relevant political action to take that day. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the Trump administration’s attack on our democracy from every angle, I hope Alder helps you stay focused and makes it easy for you to have your voice heard.
Before Trump's inauguration, I'll admit that I wasn't politically active and privilege allowed me to be civically unengaged. Civic engagement is necessary for our democracy to work, but it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and disengage. We can make a difference by each doing one simple action every day. Alder will give you a relevant call to action - whether that’s to Tweet, call your senator, sign a petition, attend a protest, or a show support for a non-profit. There is a paragraph or two explaining the issue, and why it’s relevant. If the action is to call your Senator, it will give you the phone numbers of your Senators, and Alder will give you talking points. The daily actions are curated by me based on scouring the news, podcasts, Twitter feeds, etc.
Profits from Alder will be donated to Planned Parenthood, ACLU, NAACP, Electronic Frontier Foundation, or The Natural Resource Defense Council.

I like the simple focus of this app - doing one thing per day, week, or month with curated political actions is an effective and sustainable way to get involved. How do the actions get curated?
@kunalslab - Glad to hear you like the simplicity of Alder! Currently I am curating the actions from a variety of news sources, podcasts, twitter, etc. There is so much going on right now it can be hard to keep up, but I've actually found the process of picking one thing to focus on every day to be very calming.

This is extremely cool! How do you determine which one issue is the most important of the day? Also, tell us more about how you chose Alder as the name!
thanks @catherine_trainor! I came up with the name after skimming a ton of my in-laws' birding books when I was visiting them for a long weekend. I try to pick an action that is more relevant to the current events. For example, if there is going to be a vote in the Senate on a topic the next day, I want to make sure people are aware of it and call their Senators.
