I've using Google Sheets as database for quite some projects and can't believe how easy it is to use. Love the way how easy your tool looks to set this up! One questions I was wondering about. Do you store the data on your side, or does it pull it directly from Google Sheets?

@dannypostmaa Thanks for the initial feedback, Danny! As for your concern, Stein does not store the data, and rather fetches it from Sheets. The only information stored is the name of the spreadsheet (for use in the dashboard interface).

@sinha_shiven Thanks for your reply! It’s actually not a concert that you store data, as the sheet is already published on the web. More a concern what the limitation is to the requests to Googles site. I’ve build an application that stores new updates as a JSON file because of this. Did you figure out what Googles limits are to the number of requests?

@dannypostmaa The request limits that apply by default to the Sheets API as mentioned in their docs apply to us currently. However, I'll be applying for an increased quota in a day or two, and will let you know the results!

@dmitry_gorshkov after taking a quick look, it seems to me that the 5 products you link to do different things. For example, only is used only for lead generation/contact management, another can only use data from spreadsheets to build simple list-style websites, based on templates that the maker created. This one allows you to assign values and input them anywhere in your html using “handlebars”.

I was looking for something like this that *just worked* and exposed an API that could be used to fetch data from Google Sheets instead of having to build a Flask based API. Excited to try this out!
