Raycast is one of those tools that quickly becomes part of your workflow to the point where you stop thinking about it.
I originally started using it as an application launcher, but today I rely on it for much more: clipboard history, snippets, quick calculations, AI commands, and extensions that save me from constantly switching between apps.
What I appreciate most is the attention to detail. The experience is fast, polished, and feels intentionally designed for people who spend their day building software.
Raycast
Hey Product Hunt 👋
Raycast 2.0 came out of beta at the end of August, and today we’re excited to bring it to Product Hunt! Rebuilt on a new foundation and redesigned from the inside out, it’s been a long journey. Thank you to everyone who helped us shape it.
If you’re new to Raycast, it’s your shortcut to everything on your computer. Launch apps, find files, manage your clipboard, run extensions, and ask AI, all from your keyboard.
We started Raycast because we wanted less friction between having an idea and getting it done. With 2.0, we’ve taken that further, improving the everyday launcher experience and bringing AI that can take action into the same place.
There’s a lot in this release, but here are the highlights:
A fresh design. A new look for Liquid Glass, with a compact mode that keeps just the essentials.
Faster file search, right in the launcher. Files and folders appear alongside your other results, powered by a new indexing engine. You can now search across settings, extensions, and commands too.
More flexible shortcuts. Use fn on its own, assign left and right modifier keys separately, and configure hotkeys directly from the Action Panel.
AI with more context. Quick AI and AI Chat share a redesigned experience. Screen Awareness brings what you’re looking at into the conversation, and relevant AI Extensions load automatically.
AI that knows how you work. Profile and Memory carry context between conversations. Agents and Skills let you tailor AI to the tasks you repeat.
Built-in dictation. Speak to write clean, formatted text in any app, with styles that adapt to where you’re writing.
Projects and Automations. Keep related chats together under shared instructions, and set up recurring tasks for Raycast to handle.
Bring your own subscription. Connect your existing ChatGPT or Claude account.
You can explore everything new in v2 in our manual.
Thank you to everyone who’s helped shape Raycast so far. Try 2.0 and let us know what you think.
More exiting things to come!
If you're on v1, most of you should see an action to update and migrate. Raycast v2 requires Tahoe and Apple silicon. If you still don't see the update, you can download it directly from https://www.raycast.com/ and replace v1.

🙌 Raycast is the one tool I can't live without! It's so embedded in my day to day that makes my life significantly easier - not to mention all of the different apps I stopped paying for. For the new automations/projects, can I run chains - or is it one command on a schedule? I run the same few commands in the same order every morning before my first call and have Claude running one by one.
Raycast
@tmaleh_ You can just ask AI to run those in order and it should do it.

Congrats guys! Bring your own AI subscriptions. Thats interesting! Does it work with codex subscription?
Raycast
@conduit_design Yes you can bring your Codex subscription. I have both Claude and Codex connected.

I love Raycast! Must-have app for sure
Love that Raycast 2.0 turns the launcher into an action layer where your own AI actually does the work across apps, not just another search box. Congrats on the rebuild!
