PDF Tools - PWA Suite

Compress, merge & split PDFs in the browser. No file upload.

Compress, merge, and split PDFs—right in your browser. No uploads. No servers. No accounts. Just drop your files and go. PDF Tools uses Ghostscript compiled to WebAssembly, so everything happens locally on your device. Install it as a PWA if you want and it works offline too.

Hi Product Hunt community! Have a great year 2026! Happy to share PDF Tools with you today. This project started because I wanted the power of command-line tools without the command line. On Linux, Ghostscript is my default for anything PDF-related. But on other devices—like a locked-down work laptop or a phone—the choices are much less obvious. When I first heard about WebAssembly and Emscripten, I thought, "Great! We’re going to see all these powerful CLI tools ported to the browser." It seemed like the perfect way to avoid sending data to servers. But progress has felt a bit slow. Recently, I discovered a Ghostscript WASM port and a demo that someone had already built. I should give special credit to Laurent Meyer and Github user @ochacha for that. I took that foundation and wrapped it in a new interface to handle the most common needs: compressing, merging, and splitting. It’s a work in progress and I know there's room to grow. I’d love to hear your feedback on what features I should add next.
