Create a home page and blog in seconds, then just write. Post by email or powerful text editor. Pagecord is independent, open source, and built to last. Privacy-respecting analytics, email newsletters, custom domains, and beautiful themes included.
Why is it fantastic? Almost any platform is easy to use in the sense that it is easy to enter text, but Pagecord is also easy to navigate, with no 'how do I get to X from here?' uncertainties. And the developer is responsive and actively working to improve the platform. If it has one shortcoming it is that the developer is a one-person show - so there is always the risk of a waning of enthusiasm or the chance of a sale in the longer term. I don't have all my eggs in one basket but I do like the platform.
What needs improvement
Maybe to he able to vary line width - I only just thought of this now and I may already be possible.
vs Alternatives
Why did you choose Pagecord over other alternatives? I don't choose Pagecord over other platforms; I use it with other platforms - WP self-hosted, WP.com, Mataroa, BearBlog, but I hardly touch Mataroa, and I don't do a lot with BearBlog but I like Pagecord, not least because the developer is responsive (I asked something and he did it) and because he is also proactive.
How reliable is posting by email in daily use?
In my experience, completely reliable.
Is the weekly digest newsletter reliable and easy to manage?
He has his own newsletter rather than users' newsletters - and they are worth reading because he sticks to essentials - how to improve the platform. But he has introduced a neat feature - shuffle - to see other people's work.

I hear you about the solo developer, but until there are enough customers to get additional help there's no other option! Impossible to guarantee the future of any product, solo dev or otherwise, but I am making plans for Pagecord to be around for years to come (it's already open sourced fwiw).
