Hey PH 👋 Peter here, one of the co-founders of Hera.
Some of you know Hera from our launch in April.
Since then, we built a canvas. We built it because AI models are now really good at design and animation, but there was no tool with a good interface for that work. Most of us still use these models in a chat. You get one result at a time, and every small change means the AI makes the whole thing again.
In our user calls, we heard the same two things again and again. A small fix often makes the result worse. And people still finish their work in Figma or After Effects, because that's where they have control.
So we built the interface we wanted. On the canvas you generate images, design and animate in one place:
Direct several AI agents at the same time and compare the results side by side
Add your brand kit or drop in any reference, and new work picks up that look
Get every result as editable layers, so you change the one thing you want and keep the rest
Turn a finished design into motion on the same canvas
Founders, marketers and designers use it for ads, launch videos and social posts.
This is our first version, and some parts are still rough. Two questions would help us most: where did the canvas get in your way, and what would you need to use it every week?
I'd also love to see if you can create something really good with it. If you do, post it in the comments.
Thanks for checking it out.
Congrats, team! The constant problem with AI tools while doing some designs is that I change one thing and the whole design changes. Editable layers is good thing to fix that! Will test it out!
@kate_ramakaieva Thanks Kate! That exact problem came up in a lot of our user calls, so every result on the canvas comes as editable layers. Let me know how your test goes, I'd love to hear what you think.
Love the subtle design of the whole page. To what extent can users change the design manually?
@busmark_w_nika Thank you, glad you like it! You can change quite a lot by hand. When you turn an image into a design, it comes as layers, so you can click any text, logo or shape and change the words, font, size, color or position yourself. Or you just tell the agent what to change. Manual control over the animation itself is still limited, that's what we're working on next.
I run a few AI agents next to my design tool all day. So I can get them on one board on Hera?
@imtiaz_faisal Yes, that's the idea! On the canvas you can run several agents at the same time :)
this is so sick, amazing to see the evolution of hera. been a happy user and customer for over a year and they just get better and better. there's no other way to design and generate photos and videos with AI. thanks for building this guys!
@hazhubble Haz, thank you! Means a lot coming from someone who's been with us since the early days. Can't wait to see what you make for Pally on the canvas.
Congrats, looks great! Can you also develop a video script with this for e.g. a launch video?
We've used @Hera for a while at @Brew , and it's seriously improved our creative assets. We can now easily launch new features multiple times a week an attach a cool video like the one I've attached here. So stoked for this new release!
