What's great

A great “smart assistant” for social media content creators, video editors, and anyone looking to quickly visualize data.

What needs improvement

It would be better if we could upload external visuals and make some fine-tuning adjustments, especially in animations. It should give us a bit more control.

Even though it’s in almost the same price range, it actually works really well for my needs right now, compared to After Effects

The best part is how much friction it removes from the creative process. You can go from idea to animation almost instantly, preview different styles, and export in multiple formats like MP4 or GIF. The fact that it generates code-based animations also means you get more control if you want to fine-tune things later. For marketers, content creators, or teams who need motion on a regular basis, this feels like a serious productivity boost without the usual steep learning curve. That said, it’s not without trade-offs. The outputs are impressive, but every now and then Hera can misinterpret prompts or deliver results that need extra tweaking. And while basic use is very straightforward, digging into advanced customization does take some time to get used to. Hera nails what most video tools miss: staying perfectly on-brand without fighting the editor. Brand kit setup was effortless—logos, colors, and fonts flowed through the templates immediately—so everything looked consistent from the first scene. The presets feel premium (not cheesy), captions and resizing are a click, and exports are crisp. I went from idea to a polished promo in about 15 minutes. The small touches—guideline prompts, smart layout suggestions, subtle motion—save real time. Support was quick and helpful. If you produce social or product videos and care about design quality, Hera is a no-brainer. Big fan.

I've been using Hera for over half a year now and it keeps getting better and better. It makes work faster, it makes creating visuals very easy and anybody who can type can use it. I can confidently say that the progress Hera made in the last 6 months or so is huge. When you have a problem they contact you back, when you give constructive feedback they take it into account, when you report a bug they start working on a fix. That's my experience thus far. Yes, Hera has its limits for now but it keeps getting better and with enough time and effort I believe it could become (and for many use cases it already is) the perfect alternative for advanced softwares such as After Effects. Even if you don't have any experience with advanced editing, Hera makes motion design super easy and intuitive.

Super cool and has huge potential to simplify complex workflows. Still, for users without coding background, it may take a bit to get fully comfortable tweaking parameters. More beginner-friendly onboarding would be great.
