πŸ“£ We listened! first new feature from launch day feedback is live!!

You can now see congress voting records, can see per bill, and for each one see how each congress member voted. Can access the full voting list from the link on the Legislative tab, or by selecting the bill in the table you want to see the record for.

Also added a roadmap page so you can see what else we're working on next. Stay tuned as we keep working to make this a better tool to help keep you informed.

Why We Built Gov Action List?

We created Gov Action List out of frustration with the news cycle - endless doom-scrolling, partisan spin, and hyperbole made it nearly impossible to understand what was actually happening in our government.

This tool cuts through the noise by simply aggregating data from three key sources:
- Executive Actions
- Congressional Bills (Senate and House)
- Supreme Court Opinions & Cases

No spin. No panic-inducing headlines. Just facts.

What we've discovered is that clarity doesn't just reduce anxiety - it enables action. When you can actually see what's happening in without all the headlines, you can make informed decisions about where to focus your energy, which representatives to contact, or what issues truly need your attention.

Gov Action List isn't about any political agenda - it's about empowering citizens with straightforward information so we can all participate more effectively in our democracy.

We'd love your feedback as we continue to refine this tool! What other information would you like to see?

@masumpΒ Yeah the next two workstreams we are working on are

1. Breaking out the congressional and judicial actions by the specific members voting on, writing opinions (for SCOTUS).

  1. Including more pieces of the government for tracking, bringing in federal agencies.

Nika

Appreciate the idea. Does it apply to the international acts or only those in the US?

Andrew Averill

@busmark_w_nikaΒ  Currently its just the US Federal Government, but if there's other countries you'd like to see let us know!

Adriano Barbet

@busmark_w_nikaΒ Could be cool to have it for other countries. We could see all the shady stuff that passes...

Nika

Maybe Europeans as some of them started focusing onthe "MEGA movement". πŸ˜…πŸ™‚

Nika

Yes, some would be very surprised :DDD the more you are going to the East, the things are becoming shady :D

Ryan Hoover

This could be useful for investors looking for new regulatory shifts or founders tracking their industry.

Feature request: I'd love to see a short description for each executive order or change. Bonus points if you can provide estimated impact or second-order effects for each.

Andrew Averill

@rrhooverΒ Great insight and idea!! Added to our feature request board: https://insigh.to/b/govaction

Interesting concept! In this age of information overload, it is no longer easy for us to distinguish between what is true and what is fake news, nor can we easily keep up with the topics we are interested in.

Mira Lobanovskaya

I used to work with local NGOs in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a comms consultant, right after the abortion ban.

They struggle tremendously to keep up with tracking the government mess, but they do a great job.

From this experience (maybe useful for u), there’s a huge pain point: a lot of billsβ€”especially the most heinous onesβ€”are vague when submitted before being discussed and voted on. There’s a team of about 15 people, each assigned to watch live sessions, record, transcribe, and share the content. Sessions run simultaneously and aren’t available for replay.

If u could build a system that records, transcribes, summarizes, and generates an action planβ€”including who among the representatives people can write letters to (telling them to go f themselves) about their disappointmentsβ€”that would be HUGE.

If u r interested, I can help with connections and funding, good luck!

Winrey Ma

The standardized government action API integration is excellent, our team used it to build a policy impact analysis tool, the data is clean and reliable, much more convenient than scraping official websites.

Jonas Urbonas

Gov Action List is such a refreshing way to cut through all the noise and just focus on the factsβ€”it’s like a breath of fresh air in the world of politics! What other ways are you thinking about making it even easier for users to take action based on the information they find?

Andrew Averill

@jonurbonasΒ One of the next features we plan to add is being able to see what representatives are voting on and supporting the various legislation.
