hey everyone 👋,
🎭 I previously launched a web app that failed.
📊 Well, I did have over 10,000 users. But almost none of them would give me any feedback. I remember one of our email campaign had more 'Unsubscribe' emails than anything else.
This meant I didn't know what to build next. But I kept building. Mostly, features people wouldn't use. And I didn't even know why.
I then realised that getting feedback while in the app was better. But it was mostly limited - you either get quantitative surveys which tell you nothing. Or you can ask open-ended questions and still not quite understand what was happening.
However, in the times that I could set up calls with users, people would talk. A lot. I would be able to understand why they were using us. What was happening in their world. One such conversation lead me to create the feature that got us 80% of the users.
💡 This is what describy is about.
🚀 Introducing describy: AI-researchers that have voice conversations with your users.
🗣️ Our AI researcher would run 2 types of interviews:
1. Product-Market Fit
2. Jobs-to-be-Done
The describy researcher can work in:
- Standalone page
- A pop-up in your app
- Can phone call your users
Our vision is that we will understand from users what their problems are. What's the context.
So we no longer have to build in silence.
🎁 I am very much against free trials. But for the Product Hunt community we agreed to give 1 survey with 3 conversations. Hopefully you can use these with some of your users and get some good feedback.
Let me know what you think. We are a small team of 2, so we appreciate everyone's opinion and help.

@ivelin_kozarev This is a good use case of AI for user research for products finding PMF. Congrats on the launch. :)
Congratulations on your launch @ivelin_kozarev I would love to get some insights from you that how did you come across the idea, what was the motivation?

@bilalasif hey bilal! thanks for the congrats 😊
the idea came from my own struggles as a founder. always wanted to chat with users but never had enough time. thought, what if AI could do it for me?
motivation was simple: help founders understand their users better without the time suck.

🔌 Plugged in
Getting feedback has two problems:
1. Users don't like to type and fill out surveys.
2. We as a team don't have the resources to regularly go over all small details in the feedback forms.
We've been using describy for 2 months now at Saga and I have to say people are much more willing to talk over voice instead of writing an email or filling out a survey. Users would typically record a Loom video and send it over to us but in this case they can leave feedback while in the app and the flow is much much better.
Well done @ivelin_kozarev and team!

@fstanev thank you so much Filip! Voice is so much more natural over typing. And yeah, analyzing tons of text feedback is a real time-sink. Glad we could streamline things for your team. Cheers!

Congrats on the launch, team! @ivelin_kozarev may I ask what your favorite feature is that sets you apart from the competition?

@berkebasaraner it will be how natural the conversations are! We have often seen feedback sessions lasting more than 10 minutes! Unthinkable with surveys that you don't pay money for

What if I want to make a product for a completely different market then my current users are in? How is the voice quality of the bot? Will people not feel weird talking to a bot?

@michacassola hi Micha - I encourage you to try it yourself. Conversations sound pretty natural. Once you get into it, you can forget its an AI. Of course, some people are not going to like it. But many people don't like filling survey as well!
