AskUCP

Search all of Shopify in one place. Powered by Google's UCP.

AskUCP is one of the first apps built on the Universal Commerce Protocol, an open standard announced by Google and Shopify on January 11th. (ucp.dev) Instead of searching store by store, AskUCP lets you search the entire Shopify ecosystem from a single interface. No APIs. No integrations. Just one search across millions of products. As more platforms adopt UCP, their catalogs become searchable too. This is what commerce looks like when silos disappear.

On January 11th, Google and Shopify announced the Universal Commerce Protocol, an open standard that lets any app query products across platforms without needing APIs or middlemen. (ucp.dev) I wanted to see what commerce feels like when silos disappear. So I built AskUCP as a proof of concept: a single search across the entire Shopify ecosystem. Right now it's early. There are rough edges. But the core idea is simple: shopping should feel like searching the web, not navigating a hundred different stores. I'd love to hear your feedback. What would make this more useful for you? What's missing? And if you're a platform interested in UCP integration, reach out. The more catalogs that join, the better searching becomes for everyone.
