When you feel mentally well you not only benefit personally but it reflects directly to your partner, kids, family, friends, and the world around you. AlphaBeats is a passion product of mine to help reduce stress for everyone. What is AlphaBeats? Alphabeats uses Philips technology and implicit learning to lower stress by listening to music for as little as 10 minutes per day. AlphaBeats uses music-based biofeedback to help reduce chronic stress and its associated effects such as poor sleep, increased blood pressure, lowered immune system, anxiety, and depression. The app measures stress levels through breathing and heart rate variability. How does the App work? It's simple. Open the AlphaBeats app, put on your headphones, connect your wearable (Apple Watch or EliteHRV) or just use your mobile phone (if you do not have a wearable and keep the phone on your belly to measure the breathing), and start listening to your favorite music. AlphaBeats continuously monitors how your body and mind respond to music and adjusts the level of the music to quickly transport you to the "alpha state," reducing beta brain waves and enhancing alpha brain waves. Stress levels before the pandemic were high. Now they’re atmospheric. But healthcare in general and preventive healthcare in particular are changing. We are more empowered than ever before to be our own healthcare advocates. There are tools available to help us prevent health issues, even debilitating diseases brought on by chronic stress. That’s where AlphaBeats comes in. All I have to do is listen to music and let the app train my brain to relax. I listen to music every day, so it’s not an β€œextra” activity. My sessions are only 10 minutes long, so what is that? Three songs? I come away feeling more relaxed, ready to power through the day. More than that, I know I’m doing something for myself, even if it’s only taking 10 minutes out of my hectic schedule. It’s part of my routine and it helps. I know that if I let my stress go unchecked, I open myself to all sorts of potential health problems. As they say, β€œAn ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
