Thanks for hunting @mwseibel and hello fellow Hunters! πŸ”ŽΒ Have you ever discovered a former employee still having access to one of your SaaS applications? 🌟 Look no further! With AccessOwl, you can detect every application and its users, ensuring no user account is forgotten during offboarding! I'm Philip, the Co-Founder and CEO of AccessOwl. Having faced numerous challenges in managing user access to SaaS applications in my previous companies, we developed AccessOwl to simplify your team's access management. 🀯 The Problem Have you encountered former employees with access to your SaaS tools? Trust me, it happens to all of us. The issue is that most organizations struggle to track the SaaS applications in use and, worse, don't know who has access to which tool. This leads to orphaned user accounts, costing you money and posing a security risk. 🌟 The Solution By connecting to your Google Workspace, AccessOwl automatically scans your entire organization for all SaaS tools and user accounts in use. Picture this: One of our customers believed they were using 100 applications. Guess how many we discovered? 300! With AccessOwl offboarding becomes significantly easier: 1. Trigger an offboarding within AccessOwl or directly in Slack. 2. AccessOwl prompts the application admin to offboard the users or can optionally delete the user accounts on your behalf (available in the paid version). πŸ¦‰Β What is AccessOwl? AccessOwl manages your team's access to any SaaS application, eliminating the manual work of creating, deleting, and documenting SaaS access. By integrating with Google and Slack workspaces, it simplifies the process, allowing employees to: πŸ’₯ Request and approve access in Slack πŸ’₯ Automatically provision user accounts πŸ’₯ Streamline employee on- and offboarding πŸ’₯ Keep track of all access, making SOC2, ISO27001, HIPAA audits a breeze πŸ’₯ ... and now, it also discovers applications and user accounts! 🎁 For PH launch users only: Use the new AccessOwl Discovery feature completely free of charge! πŸ’‘ Do you have any feedback or ideas on how we can improve AccessOwl? We'd love to hear from you in the comments! ~Philip

Great implementation of solving the access nightmare. Saves a lot of time and hassle. Keep on shipping!
Philip LR
@khwhahn You sound like you've experienced some of that nightmare yourself? Thanks!
Mathias Nestler
@khwhahn That's the perfect description actually: "Access Nightmare". With us no more!! Thank you!
Mihri Minaz
It is very handy to fetch all the existing permissions from GSuite and handle them on slack. Otherwise I need to check it every now and then whenever I have a breach paranoia πŸ™ƒ Does it notify me on slack when an employee gives access to a 3rd party app?
Mathias Nestler
@mihriminaz That's indeed an amazing idea! We heard that alerting on these kind of events would help people a lot to keep an eye on what's happening in their organizations, especially interested for CISOs. We plan to launch a feature like that soon!
Oliver Thamm
Definitely gonna make my own SaaS integrate with this. Great idea!
Mathias Nestler
@oliver_thamm Absolutely. We're happy to help you. Let us know at any time, Oliver. Thank you!
Oliver Thamm
@mathias_n Sure, I'll reach out. Are there docs anywhere yet, eg on what my API endpoint would need to look like so you can grant / revoke access for users?
Mathias Nestler
@oliver_thamm You could provide a SCIM compliant endpoint. That would be the best in terms of speed. But we're also able to integrate with browser automation.
Oliver Thamm
@mathias_n SCIM looks very interesting and relevant. I think I'll go down that route when the time comes.

Have heard highly positive reviews of Access Owl β€”Β congrats on the PH launch! :) Starting at what team size is Access Owl a good fit?
Philip LR
@david_paffenholz Great question, as with many things, it depends ;) Here are a few typical stages we see: For small organizations, starting at 5 employees: You'd probably want to keep the AccessOwl Discovery just running in the background to have a single-source-of-truth to see every app that's in use and help with employee offboarding. For organizations with 20+ employees and ISO27001 or SOC 2 certified: Most companies start out with managing all processes required to stay compliant manually. AccessOwl can automate all of them with easy to implement Slack workflows. For growing organizations with 50-80+ employees: This is usually the breaking point where you'd want to look into a solution such as AccessOwl to automate the user account provisioning and deprovisioning.
David
@philip_lr Nice, that makes sense! Thanks for the detailed response.
Aswin Ramachandran
Happy to see you launch @philip_lr πŸš€

@new_user_097202293fa6a9bd9 Thanks Aswin! Hoping to have my pizza delivered with one of your THEOs at some point in time!
A round of applause for the AccessOwl team! Launching a product that addresses the challenges of SaaS access management is no small feat. I'm wondering if you could share more details about how they identify apps and user accounts in an organization? I'm really interested in learning more about it.
Mathias Nestler
@ricardo_luz Amazing, Ricardo, thank you! We basically take a deep, deep look into your Google Workspace, check which people signed in, query app invitations and compare that with a curated app data log on our side. We noticed that works very well to really find apps and users account that would be otherwise hidden...
