Hey everyone, Max here from Basedash.
Today we're launching scheduled CSV exports: ask a Basedash automation for a CSV once, and every run delivers a fresh file.
A lot of recurring reports are really a recurring export. Every Monday someone asks for the file, downloads it, and posts it in Slack. Now the automation does that part.
Write it into the instructions, like "send a CSV of last week's new signups every Monday" or "email finance a CSV of yesterday's failed payments every morning", and each run builds the file from your data, the same way chat does. In Slack, the CSV is attached in the message's thread. Emails and the automation's run history include a Download CSV link. If a run builds the CSV but stops before writing its summary, the file still goes out.
Downloads go through Basedash, so recipients need access to the automation to open them.
Happy to answer anything.
ok the "failed payments CSV to finance every morning" example is exactly the thing someone on our team still does by hand
if a run returns zero rows, does it still send an empty file or skip that day??? finance would probly read an empty csv as something broke
