Hey Product Hunt! We're Zach and Sahil, and we're building Cardamom, an AI voice line that answers all incoming phone calls for takeout heavy restaurants.
Zach started running restaurants at 17 and owned his own by 19. He worked in five restaurants under Michelin chefs. One common theme across the restaurant industry is what's called "organized chaos", when a situation appears completely chaotic but actually has an underlying structure.
We spoke with 32 restaurants in the Washington, DC area and found that while most were surviving on organized chaos, key details were slipping. At a busy Indian restaurant near our college, phones rang off the hook and went unanswered. Even when they picked up there phone, they're order was quickly inputted in Toast or Square and hung up, no record of who called.
We felt there should be a smarter, more data-friendly way for takeout-heavy restaurant owners to handle incoming phone orders and build a real understanding of their returning customers.
Cardamom is an AI voice line that connects directly into the owner's POS and gives takeout-heavy restaurant visibility into their returning customers, a layer of data that is lost in every POS.
