I’ve always wanted to talk to my computer naturally and have it understand me instantly. When we started experimenting with the latest speech models, it became clear that the experience could be much better than the traditional transcription workflow. Most speech-to-text tools still send your voice and transcripts to the cloud. That never felt right to us. Voice is deeply personal, and as voice becomes a primary interface for computers, privacy has to be built in from the start. This is also personal for me. As a non-native English speaker, my pronunciation is not perfect, and I’ve often felt the friction of using voice tools that were not designed for people like me. But the latest local models changed what felt possible. So we built Zoryn: a macOS speech-to-text app that lets you speak naturally, types in real time, and runs locally by default. Your voice should stay yours.
