Zeno - Block distractions based on your task, not time.

by
Most distraction blockers depend on timers and blocklists that are easy to bypass. This Chrome extension works differently. You tell it what you are working on, and it blocks anything unrelated for as long as that task is active. No schedules, no resets. YouTube is made task-safe instead of fully blocked by hiding Shorts, recommendations, comments, autoplay, and thumbnails, while keeping useful search results and videos. Everything runs locally with a simple setup and clear blocking logic.

Hey everyone, I built this after getting frustrated with distraction blockers that rely on timers and long blocklists. Instead of time limits, this extension asks what task you are working on and blocks anything unrelated for as long as that task is active. No schedules, no resets. YouTube was a big problem for me, so instead of blocking it completely, the extension hides Shorts, recommendations, comments, autoplay, and thumbnails, while still allowing task-relevant searches and videos. Everything runs locally and is designed to be simple and reliable. I would really appreciate feedback, especially on where it feels too strict or not strict enough. Happy to answer any questions.

The Youtube filter works really well, although I would suggest to improve the UI a bit.
