Should daily guessing games stay strictly focused, or expand into pop culture?
Hey Product Hunt community 👋
I’ve been building Worthle (worthle.app), a daily deductive guessing game exploring official public financial disclosures of politicians across the US, UK, and Canada (Wordle-meets-civic transparency).
During our early tests, we noticed strong organic engagement because people love discussing and discovering the lesser-known lawmakers shaping our laws.
Now, as we prepare for our official launch today, we're facing an interesting product dilemma:
1. Keep it strictly focused on civics & public disclosures (high substance, unique educational angle, authoritative data).
2. Or expand into mainstream celebrity / tech billionaire editions to capture broader casual traffic.
For founders who have built games or consumer web apps:
Did broadening your category help you scale faster, or did it dilute what made your core product special in the first place?
Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!
