This is a very useful product 🙌🏾
Thank you – I hope you get a lot of use out of it!
Feels good. Nice design
Thank you Max! Appreciate it!
Hi, I'm not sure tu understand : Is it a wetransfer-like or a peer-to-peer service ? If it's like wetransfer, how do you pay your servers ?
It's like WeTransfer. We'll securely host your files and make sure the link works for 24 hours. However, to increase speed of transfer, we might also use P2P transfer if you and the recipient have the app open at the same time. We're planning to introduce a Pro plan for larger file limits and explore an enterprise version for organizations that have high security requirements (law firms, etc.) that can't use existing cloud storage providers.
Really cool as usual!
Thanks Charles! Nice to hear from you. Hope you're well!
Thank you for developing this app. Another quick, reliable and safe option for sending files!
Thank you Lesley!
Hey Great product.. congrats! By P2P do you mean that other nodes(users) will also be used to transfer the file or is it directly going to the user who has the link? Does the speed of download /upload depend on the nodes(users) currently active? Also, I noticed that files above 5 gb will be stored on your server is it?
Data goes directly between the sender and the receiver. The download speed depends on how many people are sharing at the same time - we use WebTorrent under the hood, so even downloaders can help share file pieces with other downloaders. For files up to 5 GB, Wormhole stores your files on our servers for 24 hours. For files larger than 5 GB, Wormhole uses peer-to-peer transfer to send your files directly from your browser to the recipient. So you'll need to keep the page open until the recipient downloads the files.
This is great!
Thank you! Glad you like it.
End user could begin downloading even while we're uploading the file, and a disappearing link - genius!
Thank you Angeline!
Another option for Pro account. Make one time use Links. That way the receiver can't share the link with others I didn't intend. Once the receiver clicks on the link, no one else can use that. Would also require ability to create multiple links to the same file(s).
This is a good suggestion!
Nice does it!
Appreciate it!
