Wordscope is a lightweight browser tool for instant word lookups, made for students, researchers, and curious readers. Highlight text or use a hotkey to open a clean bubble with definitions, synonyms, antonyms, audio, and examples. Save history, export data, open a side panel for details alongside your reading, or unlock AI context all without leaving the tab.

Hi PH, I’m a university student and this is my very first launch as an indie developer. I built Wordscope out of a problem I ran into constantly while reading research papers and long articles: every time I had to look up a word, I’d lose focus switching tabs. Wordscope keeps you in flow by letting you highlight text (or use a hotkey) to open a small bubble right on the page. Inside, you’ll find: Definitions, synonyms, and antonyms Pronunciation and audio (when available) Examples from multiple trusted sources Optional AI context (Pro) for quick explanations When you want more detail, you can expand into a side panel for longer entries and multi-source comparisons. Every lookup is saved in History, and you can export them in PDF, CSV, TSV, or JSON. Key Features Instant popup lookups without leaving the page Multi-source dictionaries with attribution Pronunciations and audio History + export options Theme-aware, clean interface Optional AI context (Pro) Since this is my first indie launch, I’m a bit nervous but really excited to hear feedback from this community. Wordscope is something I’ve wanted as a student, and I’d love to know what you think and how it can be improved.
