Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm excited to finally share WinAirCast with you all today.

The Problem:

Like many of you, I live in a mixed ecosystem—I use a Windows PC for heavy lifting and gaming, but I absolutely love the sound of my Apple HomePods. The problem? Windows natively ignores AirPlay, and the existing third-party solutions (like TuneBlade or AirParrot) felt stuck in the past.

They suffered from high latency (ruining video lip-sync), frequently crashed on Windows 11 due to outdated architecture, and struggled to properly support modern AirPlay 2 features like stereo pairing and multi-room sync. I needed something better.

The Solution:
So, we built WinAirCast. We rewrote the entire protocol stack from scratch using Rust, focusing obsessively on stability, low latency, and modern UI.
Here is what makes WinAirCast the missing bridge between Windows and your AirPlay speakers:

🚀 Ultra-Low Latency (45ms) & AirPlay 2 Support
By implementing precise PTP (Precision Time Protocol) microsecond clock synchronization, WinAirCast natively supports AirPlay 2 (while remaining backwards compatible with AirPlay 1). This means you can finally group multiple HomePods for true stereo sound. With our "Real-time Streaming" mode, we've crushed latency down to ~45ms—making watching videos perfectly in sync. We even added an uncompressed PCM mode for audiophiles.

🎛️ Pro Audio Routing & 10-Band EQ
A HomePod's default tuning isn't for every room, so we built in a high-precision 10-band Graphic Equalizer with pre-amp controls and anti-clipping DSP.
Plus, we added Per-App Routing: want to cast just Spotify to the HomePod while keeping game audio in your headset? Easy. We also support capturing virtual soundcards to bypass DRM restrictions (like Netflix or Apple Music) for flawless lossless streaming.

🎨 A UI Designed for Windows 11
We didn't want a clunky legacy window. WinAirCast features a beautiful, Fluent Design Device Dock that snaps to the edge of your screen. Need to adjust the volume? Just bump your mouse to the edge. We also offer a lightweight floating widget for quick controls while gaming or working.

⚙️ Under the Hood Stability
By leveraging Windows MMCSS Pro Audio scheduling, we ensure the streaming thread gets top priority, eliminating crackling and popping sounds even when your CPU is under high load. It also automatically pauses streaming and puts the speaker on standby when no audio is playing, saving power and network bandwidth!

Pricing & Availability:
I despise subscriptions for utility apps. WinAirCast is available on the Microsoft Store for a $2.99 one-time purchase (with regional discounts). We offer a generous 15-day unrestricted free trial (no payment method required) so you can test it thoroughly with your specific network setup before buying.
I'd love to hear your feedback, answer any questions, and see how WinAirCast improves your desktop audio setup! Let me know what you think below! 👇
