I have just played with it and it works really good. in my next flight i'm definitely going to use it. this is a great example why bots are here to stay - no need to download a specific app just in order to find restaurant in "one week trip". keep the hard work and please add more cities.

@urieli17 Thank you for the kind words! That's why we built Where - the less friction to access a service, the better. Hope you enjoy your future experiences with it as well!

Hey! had some quick feedback on your landing page. https://www.opentest.co/share/52... Really dig this!
Hannah Moyers
@_shahedk Thanks for the feedback! Definitely aware (and personally bugged) by the one pixel as well. We need to fix that as soon as we can. :) Also trying to get videos working on mobile! We had some issues earlier with keeping them responsive (and playing!) but will be working on that as we can too. Love getting design feedback on the site, thank you!

Smooth i like it ! is the bot only proposing Around 5 options each time you request ? or is it just that my searches are too narrow. I only found 5 burger places in New York.
Hannah Moyers
@madiocci Hey Madi! Close, we return 6 options each time. :) Facebook only allows 10, but we limit it to 6 because we've found that when we go over this people with slow connections can run into significant bugs, often never receiving results at all. So 6 is kind of like our happy mid-way point between 'offering results' and still making sure everyone gets something. However, if you want more results, we set it up with quick replies that help you filter at the end to not only get more options, but to refine them more to what you need.

Cool! Will the bot learn from my preferences? FYI: Filed a minor bug report on Twitter
Hannah Moyers
@vladzima Hey Vladislav! Saw your bug. Sorry about that! We're working on fixing it now. Thanks for catching us on Twitter and getting a screenshot! Also, the bot would learn from your preferences over time. We collect data over time and use that influence your food tastes, as well as budget. (i.e. do you ask for a cheap lunch all the time, or do you tend to go for more expensive places? Do you like to be more adventurous with your food or do you tend to hit the same five types?)

@vladzima In addition to what @h_moyers said, we are currently working on tracking a users preferences in order to offer you better suggestions, but for now you can filter your results like this:

Fun experience. Really loved the add location for nearby restaurants feature. I hope you study my conversations with the bot and hopefully make it better. Great Job Makers @h_moyers 😃
Hannah Moyers
@rishabh_bose thanks Rishabh! Looking over your conversation now. :) Saw that you got to play with the emoji feature, that's fun! We posted about it awhile ago, but weren't sure if anyone would discover the feature on their own:
Saw some bugs you ran into in the beginning too, and are working on fixing those now. :)

Hey everyone! I'm Nick, Co-Founder of Where Bot, along with @h_moyers. Deciding where to eat takes a really long time. Today, people can be found using Yelp or browsing curated restaurant websites in order to discover new places. This can become complex when trying to share these restaurants with friends. We decided to soften the blow of switching apps by targeting commonly used messaging platforms while still providing quality, relevant restaurant recommendations in cities across the world. So, we created Where Bot. Where Bot is a Facebook Messenger chatbot that helps you quickly find new places to eat. Just say hello and Where will help you find the food that you want, or even help you decide if you're not sure what you want! Click here to begin: http://m.me/atwherebot Here is a gif to highlight how easy it is to discover places near you: We are still in public beta, If you have any questions (or find any bugs!) please let us know either in the comments, through Messenger, or on Twitter @atwherebot. We will be around all day to answer any questions you might have. Looking forward to hearing from you all! :) - Nick P.S. @nbraver what determines your ranking and which results you return? I searched for coffee and got a not greatly rated Starbucks as the first choice...
Nick Braver
@chrismessina when you submit a location pin (as I see you did), it will give you the closest results to you - regardless of rating. We gained initial feedback from users that implied when dropping a location pin they expected close results, so we made this a priority. If you want better ratings, you can ask to sort by rating and Where will give you new results, disregarding distance.

Clever- eager to put this to use!

Is it possible to send my location from the desktop version of Messenger? I don't see the same button as mobile.
Nick Braver
@kicksopenminds Hey Taylor, unfortunately not. The location pin can only be sent from the mobile app for Messenger. Not our restriction, just a Facebook thing. However, you can say "nearby times square" replacing times square with any landmark or street address. (Another example might be something like 'nearby 411 2nd Avenue, nyc')

I like the idea! However, I have some feedback. I feel like the bot feels a bit stiff, even in some simple NLP cases. For example, at one point I said "Seattle" and it said "To confirm that you want to search in Seattle, can you say: "Nearby Seattle"?" I would be more flexible with the input so that it feels more conversational. Look forward to seeing you grow the idea!
