Waymark - Understand the Bible

by•
Waymark helps people understand Scripture in plain language and apply it to everyday life. Since the last launch, it has grown into a calmer Bible companion with guided lessons, passage search, Indonesian localization, adjustable lesson text, private journaling with photos and Bible verse insertion, refreshed widgets, customizable reflection/prayer order, and a lighter prayer experience. Built for beginners, returning Christians, and anyone who wants Scripture to feel clearer, not heavier.

Hey Product Hunt, I’m Hillary, the indie builder behind Waymark. I launched Waymark because I kept seeing the same quiet problem: many people want to read the Bible, but feel unsure where to start, what a passage means, or how it connects to ordinary life. Since the first release, Waymark has kept evolving through real usage, product analytics, and user feedback. This new release brings together the biggest improvements so far: - Bible Search for people who come with a specific passage in mind - Indonesian localization, our first non-English language - Adjustable lesson text size - A redesigned lesson experience that feels more guided and easier to continue - Private journaling with photos and Bible verse insertion - Refreshed home screen widgets with Journal and Passage Search shortcuts - Customizable Reflection and Prayer order - A calmer begin-prayer experience with typewriter rhythm and haptics - App-size cleanup by replacing heavy prayer videos with lightweight gradients One early signal that shaped this direction: after the v1.1.6 lesson redesign, lesson completion increased from 38.46% to 48.94%. It is still early, but it helped confirm that Waymark should focus less on adding noise and more on helping people continue. I’d love your feedback: 1. What makes Bible reading difficult for beginners or returning Christians? 2. Do streaks help spiritual habits, or can they create unnecessary pressure? 3. What would make a Bible app feel both clear and emotionally safe? 4. If you journal, would photos and Bible verse insertion make reflection more useful? Thanks for taking a look. I’m building Waymark slowly and carefully, and I’d really value thoughtful feedback from this community :)
