Wayfinder AI - See how your work with AI actually evolved.
by•
Wayfinder is a local-first desktop app that turns work with AI into a visual history of how a project evolved. It groups related work into voyages, keeps alternative and failed paths visible, and links each waypoint to the original conversation, activity, and artifacts. Built for AI collaboration across research, writing, design, coding, and other project work. Current early-access collectors support Codex and Claude Code. Available for macOS and Windows, with no account or cloud sync.

AI tools are very good at producing the next answer. Their interfaces are less useful when you need to understand why one approach worked, why another failed, or which evidence changed the direction of a project.
I built Wayfinder as a standalone local-first desktop app for that missing layer. It reads Codex and Claude Code session history on your computer, groups related work into project voyages, keeps abandoned branches visible, and links each waypoint back to the original conversation, tool activity, and real file changes.
Wayfinder is designed for any project advanced through AI collaboration, including research, writing, design, and coding. The current early-access collectors support Codex and Claude Code. The app is open source, available for macOS and Windows, and has no Wayfinder account or cloud sync.
