Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built WalkAITalkie*because I love building things, I’m a huge fan of AI tools, and I wanted exactly this kind of tool for a no-brainer price. From idea to live product, the whole thing took me less than a week. Most existing tools had at least one dealbreaker for me: they send your audio to the cloud, lock core features behind a subscription, or just feel bolted on instead of truly native. So I built something different. WalkAITalkie lives in your menu bar and lets you dictate text anywhere on macOS with a simple push-to-talk hotkey. Here’s what makes it special: - 100% on-device — your voice never leaves your Mac. It uses WhisperKit for speech recognition and local LLMs for post-processing, all running on Apple Silicon. - Smart post-processing — the built-in LLM can clean up transcriptions, fix grammar, translate into other languages, or apply custom styles. All locally. - Works everywhere — dictate into any app, and the text is inserted right where your cursor is. Custom dictionary — teach it your jargon, product names, or technical terms so it gets them right consistently. I’m a solo developer from Austria, and I built this because I wanted a privacy-first voice tool that actually feels native on macOS. No Electron. No cloud dependency. Just a lightweight Swift app that respects your data. It’s currently in Apple App Store review, so hopefully it’ll be live very soon 🚀 Would love to hear your thoughts — and especially what features you’d find most useful in a tool like this. 🎙️
