Votap is about to get thousands of new politicians!

🚀 Road to 1,000,000 @Votap users - Day 102 | Current: 1684

We currently have around 125 politicians, mainly from the UK and US. That’s about to change. Especially with the US midterms coming up, we want to massively expand our politician database.

But before adding thousands of profiles, I need to make sure everything behind Votap can actually handle thousands of profiles. That means improving backend tasks that run across every politician, cutting unnecessary data we don’t actually use and, surprisingly, solving one of our biggest bottlenecks: adding and processing all those politician images in the format Votap needs.

Adding 10 politicians manually is easy. Adding thousands is a completely different problem. So before we scale the database, I’m scaling the system that builds it.
