Slow internet was breaking my UI...

I’m working on the new homepage with more sections: previous Questions of the Day, news outlets and more. They all load asynchronously, which created a surprisingly annoying problem.

On slower connections, sections would appear at different times and the whole UI could jump around. You also couldn’t tell if something was empty or simply still loading.

I’ve been adding these shimmering loading skeletons throughout Votap. They reserve the space while the real data is coming in, keeping everything stable and making it obvious that there’s something on the way.

I also made the important stuff like the main feed and leaderboards automatically refresh after you come back from having Votap in the background. Come back → fresh data. Small details, but they make the app feel a lot more polished.
