Vortext - Real-time typographic vortex screensaver for Windows

by
Vortext turns your idle screen into living generative art. It simulates letters, symbols, and glyphs swirling through a hypnotic vortex with elegant motion and multi-monitor support. Built for developers, designers, and screensaver collectors, Vortext replaces standard looping screensavers with a real-time, procedurally-driven typographic experience. Nothing is pre-rendered. Every frame is unique. Works out of the box as a native Windows screensaver.

Hey everyone, Vortext here. I built this because I got tired of every screensaver feeling like a relic from the Windows XP era. The core idea was pretty simple — what if text had physics? What if characters could behave like particles in a living system, swirling through a vortex instead of just bouncing around a box? I ended up building a real-time simulation where each character has its own velocity, depth, and trajectory. Nothing is pre-rendered or looped. Every frame is unique. It's my first screensaver and I'd love any feedback you have — especially from folks who've worked on generative art or ambient experiences before. Also happy to answer any technical questions about how the rendering works or what the performance tradeoffs were on Windows. Cheers!
