We3 is a free mobile app that privately connects you to the most compatible people around you. We use social science and machine learning to create the best matches possible, exclusively to make new friends (no romantic shenanigans).

It was designed to remove the awkwardness of making new friends as an adult, while protecting everyone's privacy.

In a time where the internet is causing the rapid isolation of people, I can only hope that an app like this will gain enough momentum to change the tides. It’s extremely well designed, an amazing concept, it just needs the user base. Unfortunately, just like dating apps, the more successful this app is the less likely users are to return to it later.

@jshapp03 That's okay because that'll mean that we achieved our goal for those people! :D We do plan on having some things in place to convince people to stay in the pool. For instance, if you're pretty happy with your social life, you'll be able to ramp up the 'minimum compatibility score' so that we'll only reach out to you if there's an INSANELY awesome Tribe that you have to meet. Thanks for the support, Justin! We're going to keep working until we get there.

Thanks for the Hunt, @nikkielizdemere! Hi guys, I’ve lived in 4 different countries as an adult, and it’s never been easy to make genuine new friends. When I learned just how important your friends are to your health and happiness, I realized I needed to do something. So We3 was born. 🐣 @emanuelpetre and I have been working on this update for a while now. I hope you guys like it. Happy to answer any questions you might have. Btw, has anyone here met their best friend when they were adults? If so, how?!

@sammynajar We focus on the stuff that really matters in friendship. Swiping through pictures seems entirely misguided as an approach to make new friends. But that's exactly what they're doing.

It’s nothing like anything else I‘ve tried before. It’s a very secure app with a small team working on it, so you know exactly who is in charge. If you need support, the developers work and reply very quickly to assist you. The app itself has had many updates in the past year, and runs very well. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new!

Pros:

It matches people who are like you and they are very talkative. It’s the opposite to a larger group where it‘s hard getting to know everyone

Cons:

The tribes don’t always materialise, every user has to confirm the tribe within 24 hours and if 1 of the 3 doesn’t, the tribe disappears.

I've been using this app for some time and I believe in its cause. Its approach is very well-executed and I've been satisfied by the matches I have gotten and the people I have met.

Pros:

This app is no half-hearted attempt, the developers are vocally dedicated to its cause, and its matchmaking and evaluation systems are great

Cons:

It may take time to find a match, but the userbase is growing more and more. No better way to contribute than to join in yourself!
