Actually using QuickTime on mac and connect iPhone to mac through usb lightening cable can also record iPhone screen

nice find! Have you tried it yet? I wish there was an easy way to create GIFs of my display, directly from my phone. Maybe we can see this in v2. 😀

yeah. works nice. but expensive app!
You could record using Vidyo and then take that video file into an app such as GifLab (believe there is a watermark in the bottom right though unless you pay for it...)
Noooo - I just got the notifications of your post from Product Hunt about this 6 minutes ago and Apple already took it down :( This would have been great!

i became a specialist in spotting apps that get removed by Apple :(
Just to be clear, as of Jan 7th 2016 at 10am this is removed from the App Store.

I would love to try it out and use it as part of my everyday workflow (I currently use Screenflow to capture video on my iPhone), but a bit wary of dropping $5 for an app that might be rendered obsolete by Apple (if assuming what Ouriel is saying is correct.)
I'm super happy someone built this! Something I've always wanted, Quicktime on mac works but I don't want to be tethered to a big machine just to record my phone screen. I much prefer to leave the laptop at home. ! I'm sure if Apple decide to pull it you'll be able to get a refund. Have to say wasn't super intuitive to switch to Airplay to start recording, but then I'm sure this wasn't easy to build and that was probably the best solution. Nice one!
There used to be a product like this out there and I used it daily to record screencaps of our app for tutorials and support requests. Hugely valuable. Then it got pulled from the App Store and stopped working. Apparently apple isn't a fan of apps that can record your screen, for security reasons, but it's so much easier to fire up an app to record a quick video than it is to jump through the tethering hoops to record with QuickTime. Big step back. Hope this app sticks around.

Wanted this but missed it before apple removed it. Maybe they will offer a side load like flux
