Before the product, the thing that got us started. A few weeks ago we requested the home pages of 64 well-known sites the way GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot do. 33 let all three in. 27 let none in. A default in a CDN or a bot-protection rule did it for them. 17 of the 64 had an llms.txt, and 9 hide half their page behind JavaScript that most AI crawlers never run.
Most teams I talk to track rankings in Google and have no idea what ChatGPT or Perplexity says about them. If an answer engine can t read your site, it can t cite you. Often nobody on the team knows that s the problem.
Vercatus is an AI visibility software that tells you whether your work actually moved the answers. It measures how often ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and seven more engines name or cite your brand, shows why they pick someone else, and gives you the exact changes to make. Then it does what a mention tracker can’t: it judges every change you ship against topics you left alone, and reports the result, even “no effect”. A dashboard shows what happened.
