What happens to your family’s digital memories when you’re gone?

We save more of our lives digitally than any generation before us—photos, videos, voice recordings, documents, stories and family history.

But I started wondering: what actually happens to all of it years from now?

Social media is built for sharing today. Cloud storage is built for storing files. Neither really feels designed around intentionally preserving a family’s story and passing it to future generations.

That question became the idea behind VaultedByU: a private digital legacy vault where families can preserve memories, voices, important documents and family history in one place.

I’m curious how others think about this:

Do you currently have a plan for preserving your family’s digital history long-term—or is everything scattered across phones, cloud accounts, social media and old devices?
