Hello, fellow makers! My name is Anton, I'm the founder of Urso – a mobile game that really cares about your mental health. Our team aims to turn the daily self-care routine into a fun and engaging experience. Daily self-care is a struggle πŸ˜“ We all know mental well-being is a big deal, right? Many of us resort to mindfulness to tackle stress, burnouts, sleep issues, and whatnot. But once we've sorted out the issue at hand, it can be really challenging to keep nurturing our mind on a daily basis. Self-care becomes yet another task on the to-do list that takes time and doesn't bring immediate rewards. Games help in forming a habit πŸ•ΉοΈ The same goes for anything that needs a solid kick of motivation, like learning, jogging, or hitting the gym. Before our brain forms a habit, it feels like a boring chore. That's why many fitness and educational apps toss in game elements to make things more rewarding and help users reach their real-life goals. We aim to do the same for mental health care. The game for a happier mind 🧠 Our new app offers a range of guided meditations, which remain the core activity. On top of that, there's an idle meta-game featuring a cute virtual pet named Urso who crash-landed on an uncharted world and needs aid. By completing daily mindful activities, users help Urso evolve, explore the world, discover new stuff, and build his new home among the stars. Mindfulness for everyone πŸ€— We have many things planned: social mechanics, micropets, deeper exploration, as well as more educational content. But the main focus is to make daily mental health care more appealing. While not everyone may be prepared to commit their lives to mindfulness, we believe that everyone can take small steps toward it every day. Especially if it's fun! To bring all our plans to life, we're on the lookout for investments. Please drop me a line at anton@ursoapp.com, and let's chat about all the exciting details. The app is free, so no promo codes here. But every Product Hunter who downloads Urso within the next week and completes their first session will get an exclusive in-game t-shirt 🎁 Thank you for your support πŸ’™

We worked so long and hard to launch our app, but today I’m short on words to express the happiness and pride for our team! Thank you, guys! Congrats to us πŸ₯³

Congratulations! I believe that idea of gamifying meditations is pretty fresh by itself.
Anton Shay

Congrats on the launch @anton_shayakhov - I really love the mission towards gamifying mental health, self care and habit forming. Oftentimes these things go overlooked and come second to the grind/pursuit of the all mighty dollar and this is such a refreshing take! Are there in app purchases or I guess - how do you plan to monetize?
Anton Shay
@dzaitzow Thank you so much for supporting our idea and product. Currently, there's no monetization in the product, but we are developing it right now. In general, it will be quite simple: access to additional content through a subscription and season passes.
Daniel Zaitzow
@anton_shayakhov Love it - Have you thought about entertaining the sponsored partnership route? Instead of in app monetization or getting $$$ directly from your users - just making a rake and a promotional fee (almost like a podcast promotion) from visibility and like an affiliate commission with companies like headspace or better help - that already do a lot of promo in this sector. Anyhoo - food for thought.
Anton Shay
@dzaitzow Yes, you're right, it's food for thought. We will probably be able to come to this when we have a larger audience than we do now (we just have almost 0 users now, we launched a few days ago). Because I am sure that any collaborations will require some kind of audience from us.
Daniel Zaitzow
@anton_shayakhov 100% but it looks really great so I presume getting people onto the platform won't be too much of a hurdle!!
Anton Shay
@dzaitzow I hope that we will get the audience quickly : )
Kris Zieba
Wow, congrats! Great idea; I love that you are trying to use gamification for good. The app looks like it needs a bit of polishing, but it works, and I definitely see a lot of value in it. I would love to be able to change the language and give it to my kids to try it out, too.
Anton Shay
@kzieba First of all, thank you for your support. Yes, the app definitely needs a bit of polishing; it's 0.7 version. Version 0.8 is currently in the App Store review. We understand there's still a lot to improve. As for supporting other languages, I can't promise that at the moment; it's not in the immediate plans (2-3 months), to be honest. Thank you again!
Kris Zieba
@anton_shayakhov Sure, I get it. Fingers crossed for the app! I've already downloaded it on my iPhone and will keep checking out :)
Anton Shay
@kzieba Yes, we're keeping an eye on the updates. Very soon, a new version will be released where we have completely redesigned Urso's journey scene, and it will look stunning! Thank you )
Dima Afonin
@kzieba thanks for your support, Krys! Yeah, the app still have many edges that need a good polish. And them edges getting polished right at this very moment. Hopefully, we'll have an update early next week πŸ™Œ

@uhaleks Thank you, let's hope everything works out! 🌟

Gamified Mental Health care, love to see it. (Everything else is gamified to take our attention, why not concept it with healthy gamification!) πŸ”₯ Curious if you're implementing anything from Actionable Gamification by @yukaichou ? I read it a few years ago and it made the lens I see every day in a bit different. I see a few elements from it so was curious :)
Anton Shay
@yukaichou @esus Thank you sooo much for your support! To be honest, we haven't reached the information you mentioned above yet. But a big thank you for sharing it, as it means it's the perfect time for us to thoroughly explore it : )
Dima Afonin
@yukaichou @esus wow, that guy is brilliant! Thank you for sharing, we certainly need too take a closer look at his ideas πŸ™Œ
Slava Nikitenko
Super! Does he recommend mushrooms?
Anton Shay
@your_price_booking Thank you! Oh, no mushrooms involved. Just observing the breath and processes in the body. It's classic meditation. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈβœ¨
Slava Nikitenko
@anton_shayakhov are there meditation classes there?
