UniHub started from a simple observation: campus life is fragmented. Students use scattered WhatsApp groups, notice boards, and different apps just to buy a phone, find housing, hire services, or promote something. There’s no single, structured system that actually understands how campus ecosystems work. The core problem was inefficiency and lack of trust. Listings get lost in chats, scams happen, service providers struggle to reach the right audience, and students waste time jumping between platforms. There was also no fair exposure system—people with good offers or services often get buried while others dominate visibility. The approach was to design UniHub as a centralized, campus-first marketplace and service hub. Instead of just copying a generic marketplace model, the system was built around how students behave: fast browsing, category-based discovery, and visibility tiers (standard, priority, and top exposure) to ensure ads rotate fairly while still rewarding promotion. During development, the process evolved from a simple buy/sell idea into a structured ecosystem: * Added service listings (not just products) * Introduced smart ad rotation for fairness and monetization * Built category-based exposure logic (homepage vs categories) * Focused on simplicity in UI so students can act quickly * Designed it to scale across multiple campuses The launch focus has been on clarity and usability—making sure a student can open UniHub and immediately understand where to go, what to do, and how to benefit without friction.
