Why is it still so hard to buy something you saw in a short video?

Short videos drive a lot of buying decisions today, like Reels, Shorts, Spotlight, etc.
Yet the flow usually breaks at “link?” comments, DMs, or endless searching.

I am curious:

  • What do you usually do when you want to buy something you saw in a video?

  • Do you rely on creators, comments, screenshots, Google Lens, or just give up?

  • What’s the biggest friction you have felt in this process?

As builders, we are exploring ways to reduce this gap, but I’d love to hear how others experience it.
