VoiceBrief - Turn any PDF into an AI audio lecture you can listen to anywhere 🎧
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built VoiceBrief to solve a problem I had as a student - textbooks are dense, time is limited, and I wanted to learn while commuting, working out, or doing chores.
What is VoiceBrief?
Upload any PDF (textbook, research paper, lecture notes) and get:
- 📝 AI-generated summaries
- 🎙️ Natural-sounding audio narration (10-min quick summary)
- 🎓 Full professor-style explanations (1+ hour deep dives)
- ❓ Quiz questions with spaced repetition
- 🔖 Bookmarks and text highlighting synced with audio
- 💾 Offline MP3 downloads
Why I built this:
NotebookLM is great for quick overviews, but students need FULL lectures, not just 15-minute summaries. I wanted something that:
- Lets you follow along with sentence-by-sentence text highlighting
- Works offline (download MP3s)
- Has active learning tools (quizzes, bookmarks)
- Focuses on single-document deep learning vs multi-doc research
What makes it different:
✅ Two audio modes: Quick summary OR full-length lecture (your choice)
✅ Visual + audio sync (see exactly where you are in the text)
✅ Quiz generation for active recall
✅ Built for students who learn on-the-go
Current status:
- 🎉 115+ users
- 🆓 Free tier: 3 PDFs, 10-min previews
- 💎 Pro: Unlimited PDFs, full-length lectures
- 🚀 Mobile app coming Q2 2025
I'd love your feedback on:
1. What pricing would be fair? ($5? $10? $15/month?)
2. What features are missing for you?
3. Would you use this for work/study?
Built this solo as a bootstrapped side project - would love your support! 🙏
