I just launched MalExt - a tool that scans your browser extensions for known malicious ones.

The problem: Chrome and Edge quietly remove malicious extensions from their stores all the time, but if you already have one installed, nothing warns you. It just stays there.

MalExt checks your installed extensions against a live database of verified threats. It runs locally - no data collection, no telemetry.

There's a CLI, a Chrome extension that auto-scans every 6 hours, and a public dashboard at malext.toborrm.com.

Quick question for you: do you ever check what extensions you have installed, or do you just kind of... trust them? Curious how aware people are of this attack surface.
