I build homes for a living. I built EstimAI Pro because the trades deserve a better option.

Hey Product Hunt 👋

My name is Dylan. I'm a new home builder based in New England — subdivisions, ADUs, site work, turnkey residential builds.

For years I spent more time on spreadsheets than I did on job sites. Every estimate was a grind. Pulling numbers from old bids. Updating material costs by hand. Trying to remember what we charged on a similar project six months ago. Half the time the estimate was already outdated before the client even signed.

I tried everything the industry recommends. Buildertrend. CoConstruct. Procore. Powerful tools — but they're built for project managers, not estimators. The learning curve alone cost me weeks. And none of them actually helped me build a better estimate. They just organized the chaos.

So I built something different.

Not for the enterprise. Not for the boardroom. For the guy on the job site at 6am who still has to send a bid by noon.

Here's what EstimAI Pro actually does:

📁 Upload anything. Get a real estimate. Scope of work, blueprints, a Word doc, a messy email thread — upload it and EstimAI Pro reads it, breaks it down, and builds a full line-item estimate. No reformatting. No manual entry. Just a clean, accurate starting point in minutes.

🧠 It learns your business — not someone else's. When you onboard, you feed it your history. Past bids, material takeoffs, supplier quotes, completed job costs. It learns your market, your labor rates, your margins. The more you put in, the sharper it gets. Your past successful bids become training data for your own estimating brain that never forgets a number, never has a bad day, and doesn't clock out at 5.

📍 Localized costs. Not national averages. EstimAI Pro pulls relevant permit data based on the project zip code and prices every estimate against local market costs — not what lumber costs in some average American city. The guy building in rural Maine and the guy building in suburban Phoenix get two completely different outputs — local permit data, local material costs, local market rates. Because a number that's right in one zip code can blow a job in another.

⚙️ Set your rules. Once. EstimAI Pro has an AI brain where you define the rules that apply across every estimate — finish levels, preferred brands, standard allowances, trade-specific assumptions. Set it once and every estimate that comes out reflects how you build. Consistent. Professional. Yours.

🚨 Catches mistakes before they cost you. Before you send anything, EstimAI Pro flags line items that look off — materials that have spiked, items you've historically underbid, missing scope. It's the second set of eyes you never had at midnight on a Thursday.

📄 Branded, professional PDFs. Every time. Proposals go out looking like they came from a company that has its act together — fully customizable, branded to your business, and formatted for clients. Not a spreadsheet export. Not a template from 2009. A proposal you're proud to send.

📱 Built for the field. Mobile friendly. Because most of us aren't estimating from a corner office.

🔧 Multi-trade ready. Generals. Subs. Excavators. Framers. Electricians. Plumbers. If you bid work, EstimAI Pro is built for you. QuickBooks integration coming soon.

What I'd love from this community:

  • Trades folks — where does your estimating process actually break down? Time? Accuracy? Presentation?

  • Tech builders — what would it take for you to fully trust an AI-generated estimate?

  • What integrations are non-negotiable for your workflow?

I'm not here to pitch. I'm here because Product Hunt has the most honest feedback on the internet — and I'd rather hear the hard questions now than after launch day.

Drop it below. Nothing off limits.

One thing I want to be upfront about: EstimAI Pro isn't a generic AI dressed up in a hard hat. It's not pulling estimates out of thin air.

When you onboard, you feed it your history — past bids, material takeoffs, supplier quotes, completed job costs. You set rules in the AI brain — finish levels, preferred brands, standard allowances — so every estimate reflects how you actually build. Layer in localized permit data and real market costs by zip code and you've got an estimate that's actually grounded in reality.

The more you put in, the more accurate it gets. Your past successful bids become training data for your own estimating brain that never forgets a number, never has a bad day, and doesn't clock out at 5.
