Do product tours still work for complex SaaS onboarding?

We’re preparing to launch ModelNex, and I’m curious how other teams think about product tours.
For simple products, tours and checklists can work well. But for complex SaaS workflows, users often need help that is more contextual: what role they are in, what page they are on, what they have already done, and what step should come next.
That’s the problem we’re working on with ModelNex: in-app AI agents that guide users through onboarding, feature adoption, and workflow completion.
