Are We Building AI for Kids the Right Way?

by

AI tools are evolving fast — but almost all of them were designed for adults.

Kids are already interacting with AI through search, chat, and content platforms. Yet most tools prioritize engagement and scale over safety and intentional design.

As a founder building in this space, I keep asking:

  • Should AI for kids be fundamentally different from AI for adults?

  • What guardrails should exist by default?

  • How do we balance creativity with responsibility?

  • Should there be a new standard for “child-safe AI”?

Would love to hear how others in the community are thinking about this.
