We’re Exploring What an AI-Native HRMS Should Actually Look Like

by•

Most HR software has traditionally been built around menus, forms, dashboards, and reports.

That works but as AI becomes part of everyday software, we’ve been asking ourselves whether employees should always have to navigate the system themselves.

For example, instead of opening different sections to find information, an employee could simply ask:

“What's my leave balance?”

“Show me my latest payslip.”

“How many holidays do we have next month?”

Or, eventually:

“Apply for leave next Friday.”

That last step is where things get interesting.

Giving AI access to information is one problem. Giving it permission to perform an action inside an HR system introduces questions around approvals, permissions, accuracy, and accountability.

That's an area we're actively exploring while working on uKnowva HRMS.

We're interested in making AI useful inside real workplace workflows not just adding another chatbot to an existing product.

For other makers building AI into SaaS products:

Where do you draw the line between AI answering a request and AI actually completing it?

And what would make you comfortable giving an AI agent permission to take action on your behalf?
